Verde Island is a natural tourism development area given that it is located in between an established destination (Puerto Galera) and a major urban center which also serves as the jump-off point towards Puerto Galera. However, limited resources, fragile environmental conditions, and lack of necessary infrastructure and utilities development have been limiting the potential growth of tourism in the area.

There are already pioneering resorts established in the island. Increased number of facilities would not pose as competitors to the present facilities but as an opportunity to help increase the attractiveness of the island as a tourist destination.

Investment Opportunities in Verde Island
Resort Development
Verde Island still has large areas ideal for resort development. Amenities and activity-related facilities will have to be included in the investment to attract the desired amount of clients to the area. Scuba diving and island-living (coupled with relaxation and spa facilities) could help make the theme of the investment.
Handicraft Development
There are ideal amounts of resources that can be turned into handicraft items. The local communities can also be tapped to provide the much needed partners in developing the products. Preparations will however have to be done in order to determine the most viable and sustainable resources, and the production and management skills of the involved community members.
Scuba Diving
Although scuba diving is already an established activity in Verde Island, much can still be done in order to fully optimize its tourism potential. This can be realized with the establishment of more resorts in the area.
